WEATHER POLICIES

Hot Weather Safety Policy

  • In the event of extreme heat (90 degrees Fahrenheit and above), we use our best judgment to care for your pets. We will carry out your instructions to the best of our ability, but reserve the right to shorten outdoor play and walk time to ensure the safety of both your pets and our employees.

  • We are mindful of various surfaces, which can vary greatly in temperature on a hot day. To assess safety, we use the 10-second rule: If we cannot comfortably keep our hand on the walking surface for at least 10 seconds, that surface is too hot, and we will look for an alternative route to ensure your pet’s safety.

  • We will give your pet enough time to eliminate outdoors, but afterward, we will ensure they get playtime indoors. No matter what adjustments are made, we will always inform our clients of any shortened walks or changes to your pet’s usual routine.

  • We utilize a safety chart, courtesy of PetPlan Pet Insurance, to help determine the appropriate duration and safety of walks based on weather conditions (see below).

Inclement Weather Safety Policy

  • We closely monitor weather conditions, including temperature, precipitation, wind, and other environmental factors, to assess potential risks to your pets and our team. This helps us make informed decisions about the safety and feasibility of our services.

  • As long as road and walking conditions are deemed safe for our employees, we will make every effort to fulfill dog walking services. However, we always exercise caution during extreme weather events such as heavy rain, snow, or icy conditions.

In areas prone to snow and ice (e.g., Randolph, Roxbury, or other northern towns), conditions tend to be more hazardous. In such cases, we may need to limit or modify services to ensure both pet and employee safety.

  • Dog walking services: We reserve the right to cancel or shorten walks if weather conditions make it unsafe.

Pet sitting and overnight care: In extreme conditions, we will contact emergency contacts immediately and provide updates if we cannot reach your home safely.

Cancellation fees will be waived in cases where weather conditions prevent us from fulfilling services.

  • It is the client’s responsibility to remove all snow and ice from driveways, walkways, entrances, and exits before our arrival. Failure to clear these areas may result in cancellation of services, and NO credits will be applied in these cases.

  • In instances where we cannot reach your home safely, we will notify you immediately and contact your designated emergency contact. Please ensure your emergency contact is someone you trust and lives close by.

  • In cases where services are canceled due to inclement weather, NO REFUNDS will be provided. However, account credits will be issued to ensure your services can be rescheduled once conditions improve.

SCHEDULING AND TIME WINDOW POLICY

We operate within a 2-hour time window for all dog walking and pet sitting visits. For example, if you request a visit between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., we guarantee our arrival within that timeframe.

Why Do We Use a Time Window?

This system provides the flexibility needed to navigate traffic, weather, and unexpected delays from jobs prior to yours, while ensuring every pet gets the attentive care they deserve.

Key Details to Know:

  1. Specific Time Requests: We do not accommodate requests for visits at an exact time within the 2-hour window.

  2. Medication Administration: If your pet requires medication at an exact time, we’re happy to assist. However, this service includes a $15 premium fee to prioritize and guarantee the timing.

By adhering to this time window policy, we ensure consistent, reliable care for all our clients and their pets.
